Windows Takes Forever To Shut Down

A lot of the times when I shut down windows via the Start button it can sometimes take up to 10 minutes to actually shutdown. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so how did you about addressing it? I find myself getting frustrated with how long it takes that I will sometimes just manually power the PC down via the power button on my tower. I have done this right in the middle of the shutdown process even.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Many times it is what you are starting a boot. If you have a bunch of them one or more of those programs will drag it's feet at shut down. Could you post a list of Start Up programs? Ccleaner is a easy way to do this.

i have once experienced this before. It sometimes takes up to an hour before it shuts down. My case was about the windows, so i removed few unused programs, checked for windows updates, and updated it.
It did work for me.

BeKure that is the longest list of Start ups I have ever seen. I see 37 check marks. My computer has 4 check marks. Their is absolutely no reason for all those to be checked.
Un-Check all but your mouse, keyboard, and security. While you are in msconfig go to Services. In the lower left corner put a check mark in Hide All Microsoft Services. What you now see in the most part is services you do not need to have start on booting. Un-Check everything except any security you might have. Now reboot. For a test reboot a couple more times and let us know how things work.
