BSOD playing Team Fortress 2, 0x00000124

Hello,

My problem: Im getting BSOD's while I'm playing Team Fortress 2 (Fullscreen Window Mode). The mode is unimportant, since I tested Fullscreen only and the result is the same.

The BSOD usually appers after ~ 1hour. I have tested without TF2, and there's no BSOD, even after 2 hours. In this time, I'm browsing in Firefox, use applications like steam and Trillian, watching Flash-Videos on Youtube. But I don't play TF2 (Team Fortress 2).

My latest installed Hardware was a mouse (Steelseries, USB - Motherboard), and the Steelseries Engine as the driver. I already deactivated the driver in the auto start (with CCleaner). It doesent matter, if the driver is running in taskbar or not - If I'm playing TF2, after some time, I get the BSOD.

I don't know what to do now, since I had no problems before.

I also installed some Games like Half-Life and a Mouse Recorder Software. All works properly. But only TF2 causes the BSOD.

I also checked the integrity of the TF2 files - Successfully.
I hope that it's not a Hardware caused problem.

Thanks for any help!

New Update:

I NOW just had a BSOD, but the difference is: I was NOT playing TF2 while the BSOD appears. And TF2 was not opened, only Steam was.

I attached the new Zip file for you too.

Oh, and I should mention too, that I'm using the XMP Profile for my RAM (just look atz my System Specs for the RAM). I adjusted this in the BIOS and never had any problems.

I really need to fix this problem! I already checked the bug check codes and the memory dump with WinDbg but I'm still not sure, what caused the problem!

Please help me!
Thanks.

Ok, should I disable the XMP Profile too?

Hey,

I only want to write the intermediate result. Since I set the OC Profile to "Auto" (instead of "XMP") all works fine, no Bluescreens.

I think the problem was the little qpi/dram core voltage that was definied in the X.M.P Profile #1 (Intel) (2.0 V). Could be a little bit to low for a stable 1600 Mhz at CL9, hm?
Profile #2 (Manufacturer) offers 1,35 V that is too high imo.

Or can you suggest some good values to run the memory stable at 1600 Mhz?

Thanks in advance!

PS: All I had to do was checking the Common BSOD Error Code List for Overclocking - was really helpful: http://www.overclock.net/a/common-bsod-error-code-list-for-overclocking

Hi and thanks for the update.
I don't have much knowledge on overclocking etc., so I'll call my friends so that they can help you :)
Please wait for a reply.

Hi Gorix, welcome to Seven Forums.

With a little information we can try adjusting some RAM settings.

Can you download CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.
For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.
How to Post a Screenshot in Seven Forums
Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages (QPI/DRAM core voltage) are set at.

You should keep the QPI/DRAM and DRAM voltage within 0.50v for original Intel i7 CPUs.

Hello and thanks for the reply,

My CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages (QPI/DRAM core voltage) are all set at "Auto" at the moment. What exactly means "within 0,5v" ?

Your DRAM and IMC voltages have to be within 0.50v, if IMC is 1.10v the DRAM can't be more than 1.60v.

Can you post a CPUZ SPD snip for the 2GB RAM cards?

Can't give any suggestions until you tell me the current DRAM and QPI/DRAM core voltages from the BIOS.

Your motherboard manual: P6T7 WS SuperComputer
Page 2-12
Due to Intel spec definition, X.M.P. DIMMs and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel only
To use XMP you can only have three RAM cards.
You may install varying memory sizes in Channel A, Channel B and Channel C. The system maps the total size of the lower-size channel for the dual-channel or triple-channel configuration. Any excess memory from the higher-sized channel is then mapped for single-channel operation.
If your current RAM is installed correctly, DIMM A2=2GB, DIMM A1=2GB, DIMM B1=4GB, DIMM C1=4GB, then you will be in triple channel mode.
If not in this configuration then some of your RAM will be in single channel mode.

If you want to use the X.M.P. setting you need to buy a single matching 4GB RAM card, exactly the same as you have now, remove the two 2GB RAM cards and install the new 4GB card.
This is the only way to utilize triple channel mode, which is the best speed.
