Graphics Card Driver not installing

Hi all,

have been having a problem since the time i switched over to win 7 64 bit from XP 32 bit..Got the win 7 7264 (64 bit) setup on my comp. tried installing the latest driver downloaded from Nvidia , 190.38 for my GTX 260 (Palit), but for some reason the installation doesnt proceed. have been facing the same problem with Vista and XP (both 64 bit) now.. the installation progress bar reaches around 30% and d monitor restarts and then the bar is still at d same position it earlier was and doesn move. have tried a few other drivers like 182.50 but for some reason none of these drivers gets installed..

the only breakthrough i had was when i installed it in win XP 64 bit when it started popping up the driver signature error..i believe the same issue is happening in Win 7 and Vista too but not sure..

thanks and hopin to get a remedy soon

There seems to be a problem with the BIOS of that specific card.

I advise you not to buy really cheap graphics cards such as Palit, because graphics card are a crucial part of your computer and it's recommended that you buy something more respectable, more reliable from makers like EVGA, XFX or BFG.

My personal recommendation would be EVGA, they have an upgrade program called "Step-Up" in which you can trade in your old cards with new ones while paying very little.

If you bought that card within 30 days, I would go and return it and get a refund.
