Yes, Digital is DVI or HDMI, I believe his card needs one of the monitors to be Digital

So, I should go out and buy a VGA-HDMI adapter for my second monitor then? My second monitor has no hdmi connection on it, although my main monitor does. Not sure f that makes a difference or not.

have you tried your new monitor in the vga slot alone, if it works then go out and buy a hdmi cable and connect the old monitor to the hdmi and connect the new one to vga

The new monitor does not work when I plug it into VGA alone. It works, it powers on and such, but it will not work when I plug it into VGA for some reason.

Edit- Might I add, it only goes to the "Check Signal Cable" screen, I cannot open up the menu, all I can do is switch it from Analog to Digital.

Has you cpu got an IGP, if so try connecting to that instead

The new monitor has a DVI IN(HDCP) connector, and a RGB IN connection on it.

Thing is, when I connected a VGA cable from my monitor to the DVI-D adapter on my PC, I was able to see my desktop on the second monitor. I'm starting to think the connector on the second monitor is faulty maybe?

Well, I'm not sure what to do to be honest. I don't know if the monitor connector is faulty, or if I should buy a dvi cable or an hdmi adapter.

we are kinda sure that the vga isnt working.

but we cant guarantee that dvi is working, i think dvi is your best bet

Go into control panel, adjust screen resolution, are there 2 screens detected?

Well, I'm not sure what to do to be honest. I don't know if the monitor connector is faulty, or if I should buy a dvi cable or an hdmi adapter.

I would stay away from Adapters, although they will put a signal through, the signal will not be the same as an end result. So say you use a HDMI adapter, I believe if its coming from a VGA cable it will still be an analogue signal not digital so you will still be in the same situation.

The best bet if your monitor supports it is as Pedroc says, a DVI cable with NO adapters straight into the back of the card.

Yeah, this whole situation is confusing hahah, sorry. But yes, picture on the second monitor has happened, but only when I connect a VGA port from my main monitor to the DVI-D port. When I try connecting it from the DVI-D adapter to the connector on the second monitor itself, it does not produce an image. Hope this clarifies things.

Ok... Just woke up... I think the dvi is the way to go.... Let paul confirm as he is more experienced than i and then do what he says
