Just got my paws on a copy of Inkscape. This looks very interesting! Looks like it will let me try some ideas that PS couldn't (3D, for example).

I'd actually d/l-ed it a couple of weeks ago following a recommendation here, but hadn't installed it. Well, when I did, naturally the file was corrupt and I had to re-d/l it again.

I'll have a play with it later and get back to you.

Wenda using Inkscape can open up new possibilities for you, however I found it's a steep learning curve, like Corel Draw. Jump right in it.

I was looking for a manual/help file, and discovered that it's actually online (but you can buy it in book or e-book form). It has a lot of tutorials to ease you in and get you familiarised. So I'm going to work through them first, then we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Isn't it always the way. There's an effect I wanted in PS, but couldn't get quite right. Very first Inkscape tut solved the problem I was having (re-radiusing corners). Ah, you learn something new every day.

The first link had a couple of manuals/tuts that I already have but the second two will be very useful.

I'm currently working through the tuts in the top book in the first link, which is the one you get when you click on <<Help/Inkscape Manual>> from within the program. I've successfully completed the Swedish flag tut, and am now well into the EU flag tut. My plan is to work through them, one by one, and get to know/get a feel for the program that way.

I've looked at Inkscape's built-in tuts, but haven't attempted them yet.

I have certainly found a lot to like about the program already, even tho I've only scratched the surface.

EDIT: EU flag tut completed. They're different sizes because they were the dim's given in the tut.

Sk0t0s, for all I know, the person who gained a Gold badge is required to wear the FNG badge in his or her sig until someone else get's a Gold badge. Check this page for more info.
