Hum just been there and posted something and then went to see if I could redo my Avatar from saved pic and what I don't like is that it displays 1. your age (as if that matters!) 2. what you have just done (again if that matters!!?)

Yeah, nowadays we are being watched closely whatever we do. But the age you can take out of your profile. I don't mind if people know that I am old, LOL.

Your age being public information isn't really bad unless you personally mind that, what is dangerous however is having your birthday being displayed as public information. All those social engineering tricks that criminals are employing nowadays take advantage of the fact that our birthdays are sometimes used to confirm our identity.

It's a really sad state of affairs today since letting others know about your birthday could very legitimately result in having your identity stolen. Birthdays are for happy times, not sad times.

I suppose that's part of the stalking oops I mean Following thing
So your followers can get notified of changes if they have that option enabled which it is by default.

I have signed up & visited PC Help Forum a few times, but I find the Board layout restricting & nowhere as well laid out as it is here.
Also i have noticed that respondents seem to get flamed a bit if they post a reply that is considered by others as incorrect. Whereas here the more experienced & learned are far more forgiving if a reply is not really in line with the general theme.
I hope I am not being too critical, but these are my first impressions.
I hope others will give their impressions as well, as I feel I may be going out on a limb a bit.

Hover over your name at the top RIGHT, then click PRIVACY, you can there UNcheck Show Age and Date of Birth.

Well at least I'm not the only one that was born on the date I was.

However you are one of only a few born on that date with your name. A quick Google would point you out quickly.

I just had an odd experience at PCHF. It opened to the home page fine but when I checked alerts and opened a thread from there, the page auto scrolled to the bottom. Now any page that's opened does the same, drops to the bottom.

I thought I was holding my scroll button, but that's not it. Other sites are all normal.

I'm getting pretty convinced you need to start using a different browser as you're nothing but trouble with that one.

I thought I was holding my scroll button, but that's not it. Other sites are all normal.

Strange problem. I just went and checked and I don't have the problem you describe. I use Firefox.

Probably right, I thought this machine had IE11, but it's IE10. It was fine in Pale Moon and Opera.
A reboot cleared it up though in IE10.

F12 Document mode ie7 Standards seems to fix the issue,
Then it should open the thread to the first reply under your last reply.
You might simply add the site to your comp-view settings list ?

ie8 standards also seem to work okay as well.

Actually looking at the errors flagged I'm pretty sure I could sort them.....I'll give that a looking at when I've got everything else sorted.
