How to Use GMail Drive 8GB as Local Storage​

   Information

This will show you how to utilize the GMail Drive 8GB of storage as local storage in Windows Explorer.

Be aware that support for this tool may suspend at any time if Google decides to block its use. Also prepare to reboot your system.

   Warning

This is not 64-bit compatible.

Here's How:
[SIZE=+1]1.[/SIZE] To get started, download the latest version of GMail Drive from viksoe.dk and install it. You’ll notice that it’s dropped an addition to your ‘Computer’ in Explorer.

[SIZE=+1]2.[/SIZE] Right click the GMail Drive in Computer an select Login As…

[SIZE=+1]3.[/SIZE] Enter your vital statistics and hit OK

[SIZE=+1]4.[/SIZE] You may get a window saying “enumerating folder”. Try not to disturb Explorer or this window whilst it’s working. When it's finished you'll be asked if you'd like to reboot.
Once your in, it’s a simple case of dragging and dropping your documents, pictures, music into the GMail Drive.

It’ll instantly sync your GMail Drive with your online GMail account, where you can listen to, view the item, download, or view as a Google Document.

so i searched the web and also found a workaround for this error, here it is:

You have to install the Google Toolbar on Internet Explorer. Once this is done, you have to login on Gmail by using the "Sign In" button on the right part of the Goggle Toolbar in Internet Explorer. Keep the Internet Explorer window open with green button confirming your properly login with Google !
Once this is done, your can use Gmail Drive and it works as usual !

I can´t seem to get this working, the icon doesn´t show on my drive list.
The shortcut that it creates on the desktop just opens windows explorer and no gmail drive anywhere.

I uninstalled it, reinstaled it again and it shows a message saying that the software is already installed and look for the drive in my computer...

I´ve search around and the are a few more unsolved cases like mine...

You may be better off heading over to the authors website for questions. This isn't very mainstream software and i certainly don't know how to fix problems that may arise from using it. Everything went without a hitch for me.
Sorry i can't be more help........maybe someone else knows how a fix.

Yes of course, 8GB is assigned to every GMail account. Just make sure that auto login isn't enabled (step 3) when following this guide.

It doesn´t work on windows 7 x64 systems, i mailed the developer and at the moment there is no support for it... too bad (
