I actually really like the way the pirate looks... Is there a way to add a differnt logo in there? or actually a link that has custom start buttons to look at? Or even a link to see if I can attempt to put my student photoshop to use and see if I can accomplish making something :D

Yes you can, with this particular one it has a layer, which entails a glass orb, under that you can replace the image, now if you wish to learn how you can go (Here) or (Here).

Pm me if you need a hand

Ok, once you start with theme, let me know which one it is, also, please start new post as a How to ?, that way every one will know, i do not want to hijack this thread.

Cheers
xxrazor;)

Ok your going to have to bare withme for a tad.. I am currently goign to reinstall windows 7 since I caught a weird virus..:\ But I am hoping this one I got froma friend has the themes and support so I will see how it comes out.. It looks pretty promising :D So I am going to finsih burning it onto my disk and then installign it.. So I will get back to you on what theme I am going to load because I have foudn a really nice one that actually will work really well with your pirate start button.. I appriciate all your help...Its just this virus is eating me up :D So I will be back in a few hours... Thank you

I new you had a virus, those .dll we spoke of earlier did not make sense, once you have reload W7, reload patch i gave you.

stay in touch,

xxrazor:)

Actually I got the virus because someone tried to open a keygen that wasn't really a keygen which caused lots of issues.. Although I am using the original windows 7 I started with so I am going to start from the beginning and do the patch like you said and go from there, I appriciate all of your help razor... Soon as I am done with my school assigment I will do the patching and restore point stuff... :D

Those are really nice mate! They will need converting for it to be used in Windows 7. Let me know if you want a specific one converted?

I think I found out a way to extract the bitmaps from the executables..

It seems we need this file

View attachment SteelFlash 100k.zip

Now after downloading the steel flash100k.msstyle
put the start button executable of your choice together with the steel flash100k.msstyle inside the same folder... after doing so.. open the steel flash100k.msstyle using restorator.. and under the image tree go to 471 475 479 to locate the start button images.. :)

NOTE: the images are in PNG.. so I think they won't work with windows 7 ? since windows 7 use BMP ?

err...
I don't know what I'm talking about again..

I can see why. The start button was made for vista which has different dimensions than 7. (vista is 60x138 while 7 is 54x162) :geek:

thanks it worked.. but a black square background appears whenever i hover my mouse over the start button..
