Microsoft is announcing the availability of an update for supported editions of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012. This update expands the Audit Process Creation policy to include the command information that is passed to every process. This is a new feature that provides valuable information to help administrators investigate, monitor, and troubleshoot security-related issues on their networks.

Child package behavior

Customers who install this security update may face a known issue in which error 1108 is generated in the Security event log instead of the usual 4688 audit event. To address this issue, update 3004375 must be installed together with this update (update 3031432).

Note This issue was first encountered in security update 3023266 (MS15-001).

Seems this is just adding a new feature which I'm a little cautious of seems these new features just back fire and cause more issues than they cure :/

I checked this morning and only found a mse update,
This afternoon the others showed up right before I posted the thread
I loaded the one but I'm not really interested in any new features so the other is hidden

I'll check on my laptop in a little while to see what comes up on it being a 32 bit system.

Nope nothing for 32 bit home premium :/

Those updates were released Feb 10 and should haved been installed last Month.

I just checked February and you are correct.

Sure were a couple repeater very weird possibly windows update cleanup caused the issue :/

I have heard of this happening with the Windows Update Cleanup so I don't use it.
It is only suppose to clean up old update files that were replaced by new updates.
Guess its got some bugs.

Haven't run the cleanup tool in awhile.
I have the aforementioned KB's installed Feb, 10th 2015, but did have something unusual. Three MSE definition updates in one day where usually it may be one sometimes two.

I got a definition update this morning then had two more this afternoon. (Same ones you show.) Must be something bad cooking on the ole interweb. Or.....MS goofed on something.

Same thing happened to me, I usually get one in the morning and that's it till the next day, but these two popped up since the last auto check at 1:03pm edt.

Probably has something to do with the large Solar Flare hit from this morning, it had a KP Index of 8, every business I've gone to in the last two days has been experiencing PC problems mostly slowness, Could be caused by satellites if their using for them data transmission.

That just might be the slowness of updating download for W-10 and all the static on my radios A.M. stations.

Good points Bear, I didn't think of the downloads and the static was definitely something going on in the ionosphere.

I think it was tied more to threats. Perhaps there's a rash of new or different signatures for malware. Whenever I see a large definition file, say >7-800KB, I always run a full scan after the update even though I have a weekly scan scheduled. This last batch totaled over a Meg. The definitions accumulate around the clock. I've forced several updates during the day on occasions and almost always got something. They might range is size from ~40KB to ~100KB+ but it was pretty rare that there was nothing after a few hours.

Something must be up, I just installed KB2310138 (Definition 1.193.3192.0), it's the largest I've seen at 1,004KB... :shock:
