Solved Freeze + buzzing sound during Netflix and games, inconsistant.

This occurs sometimes several times a day, sometimes it does not happen for a few days. It first started in August after I did a fresh install of the OS (had bad malware) and updated the drivers using the CD that came with my computer (Alienware X-51). After about 2 months the problem went away but started again in February. The freeze usually happens within 5-10 minutes of starting up my computer.

Sometimes it is a BSOD and it reboots after a few seconds, usually it is just the frozen screen and buzzing noise, and does not respond to any input.

The problem happens 99% of the time during a video (Netflix) or when playing a game. This might not be meaningful, I use this computer mostly for those tasks.

I have my graphics card up to date, and have tried using Control Panel to automatically update the drivers for my various components. AFAIK I have done everything to update my computer's drivers short of using 3rd party software like DriverUpdate but I have heard that those are scams.

I have run memory diagnostic and it came back clean. I have dusted out the internal components. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There are no new BSOD .dmp files in the ZIP file.

Please do the following:

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

Driver Verifier will cause your computer to run very sluggishly - this is normal. What it is trying to do is force your system to BSOD and isolate the offending driver/s. When it does, reboot, disable driver verifier, reboot as normal and upload the new dmp file/s here.

I recommend creating a system restore point before turning on driver verifier:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html

If your system fails to boot to desktop once driver verifier is enabled, turn it off by booting into Safe Mode:

Part of the problem is that I usually get freezes instead of BSODs. The freezes almost always cause me to have to do a hard reboot to continue. Can driver verifier still help with my issue? Should I re-post this issue in another section?

- the buzzing leads me to suspect that it may be a sound problem
Q: what soundcard (if any) do you have installed?

- it might be worth removing the sound driver completely,
- then running a cleaner (such as Ccleaner..) to remove any left over "stubs",
- and then downloading the latest sound driver and re-installing it again..

My computer froze several more times today, no BSODs. One freeze was during web browsing with Chrome, no video, audio, or games were running and it did not make the buzzing sound. Another time my monitor lost the input from my computer but the computer's power light was still on, so I'm not sure if it froze or what. In each case, I was forced to do a manual shutdown and restart.

Also I'm not sure if this is important, but my computer has both integrated graphics and a graphics card and is supposed to use integrated graphics most of the time and the video card when needed for certain programs, like games.

My computer froze several more times in the last few days, and there was also a BSOD today, but it looked like the computer froze during the BSOD while it was gathering information. Attached is the latest info.

I'm wondering why these freezes always happen within 5-15 minutes of my computer booting up. If it survives the first half-hour, it stays on all day without problem. Could it be something happens sometimes when my computer boots up that prevents the fans from running or something like that, and it is an overheating problem? Would an overheating problem even manifest as the display freezing?

To my knowledge none, but a while ago I did try several utilities that claimed to repair drivers, something might have occurred then.
