So basically from what I have been reading is that if I have anything on my pc that isnt brand spankin new like from tomorrow, I will have to remember all of the components on my pc and go hunt for all of the driver updates. Otherwise I can look forward to a lifetime of crashes, or its back to xp till I want to deal with this new OS?

Not true. Look at my specs. I also have a machine with all 2001 hardware running flawlessly. A P4 1.5 Ghz 768 RDRAM.

I litterally just got done installing a 64 bit version of 7 that I downloaded through the msdn academic site and the first blue screen was right when it was preparing the dektop for the first time, the second was when it asked me if I wanted the crap that goes with IE8 like preferred websites, and the third and final one before shuting it down was really random I think I was inbetween windows. Any help I guess would be much appreciated, and I do understnd that its a new OS and bugs and problems for any OS this new is very common.

Place the .dmp files into a .rar file using Winrar, upload to Rapidshare, and post a link here. We will look at the .dmp files and advise.

x86 is 32-bit
x64 is 64-bit

Simple explanation is that x64 can address and use greater than 4 GB or so memory while x86 can not.

x64 performs greater for intensive tasks such as video editing and encoding.

Those are by far not the only differences. But they are most talked about.

You can use safe mode + networking to do what I asked above if you really need to.

safemode with networking will make it to where I can go ahead and actually have time to get the files the you are looking for? I guess time will tell I am going to go ahead and power back up the ol desktop to find out.

Yeah. I doubt you will have crashes running like that because any problematic drivers will not be loaded. Networking driver will be loaded though. Not a problem in all likelihood.

Actually what you say can be true.

My machine is made up of various parts from 2 months to 4 years old and Some of the pieces required some special attention to get going. Same thing I had to do with Vista, same with the switch to win 2k.

If you have a older franken machine then yeah, install clean, then upgrade drivers or add hardware one by one after that. The main initial issue is the motherboard drivers. Storage, memory, chipset. If those are not right, then you may get random crashes.

In some cases my hardware did have Vista drivers but not W7 and generally those work fine.

I think perhaps your crashes may be due to faulty memory.

Run this to stress the memory and test. MemTest for Windows Download Page

You could probably do that from safe mode.

It is best to wait for another opinion on this. Hopefully another member with more experience analyzing crash dumps will tell you something clearer or more accurate, or just straight out correct my analysis.

Please tell us was this an upgrade or clean install?

Good luck.

"Currently the computer wont even get to desktop from boot without BSOD" - crashes seem to happen while inside Windows for a while or even before - so it's not a reproducible error that happens exact same time upon a boot, every time....like as when a driver is accessed to memory.

"Ok tried to run the memory stress test and the comp froze at 4% of the ram test" I can imagine that if some other hardware besides RAM was faulty, it could produce this result as well - faulty RAM itself though is my greatest thought.

There are explorer.exe crashes and svchost.exe crashes.

Are you comfortable opening your machine?
Please give me as much information about your memory (RAM) that you have.
I'll try to help see if we can pull a memory stick or two out the machine which has a decent chance of alleviating crashes. In not, swap what you took out with what you left in an test. If not, completely replace memory.

At this point, it's an educated guess on my behalf that your RAM is casuing problems. It's only a guess.
