To use U3 with my new USB flash drive or not?

Ok this needed to be unchecked also, but I need to restart the computer for the affects to go in, but I cant right now because I have a bunch of things running on my computer.

I tried again to see the files on the flash drive after allowing all hidden files & they're still not showing up? (and I know there is data on the drive since it shows like 8g filled?

You can try using the command prompt.

Open a copy, and type dir [drive letter of your u3 drive]:

example: dir F:

I havent been able to reboot yet, but I'm still not showing the 8g worth of files.

Its really weird because there ARE files on the drive that I can see, there is even the main files I've created to store all my info in.

But when I go into these main files they just have a bunch of garbage?

Any idea? Maybe we should do a TeamView session?

No U3 works fine & opens correctly with all the appropriate programs I chose. And I can even upload files fine.

But its VIEWING the files on the disk after I've put them on there that is the problem.

I know nothing about U3. Personally, If I were you, I would remove U3.

Just I wasn't following thread and reed it all right now, (thank Jonathan_King, he asked help from members to help you) and getting some ideas.
But need more details.

Ok Here are screen shots of my flash drive:

As you can see there is a bunch of files on the drive.... but once you open the main JohnnyScience file - nothing is mine, looks familiar or are the files I've uploaded.

No it requires me to search the web for a program for those .mll files or whatever.

This is also not an efficient way for me to have my main files this deep in the flash drive. I have to go through 8 or 9 files just to get to these .mll files - I want my main folder to be the first thing I see when I open the U3 M: drive

Yes uploaded via U3 & no, even with U3 open searching the drive I get the web search for a program.

I was reading where a lot of people were just deleting the U3 program from their new USB drive for one reason or another.

But I watched the demo and honestly it seems pretty neat.

You can basically bring certain programs to use just like your on your home computer when you plug in the USB?

What about file transfers? Does it make that easy? I seen some kind of sync function in the demo too.

But I also want the ability to drag and drop files like normal, can I still do that with U3?

I tried using a U3 disk and i just got fed up of jumping thorugh hoops to do simple file transfer so i I removed it U3 removal utility: and it doesn't annoy me anymore

I reckon it's a great idea badly implemented with a narrow viewpoint :huh:

I mean honestly I like the U3 software, but for some reason I just cant see the files I've uploaded?

This Portable Software app does look cool.... but isnt it basically another version of U3?
