90% of the websites wont work

Hi folks,

i just installed windows 7 build 7068.winmain.090321-1322 and have this
wierd problem, 90% of the websites i try to visit wont work. all the google
services work, google, gmail, google maps etc, this forum works and some
other sites aswell. but websites like microsoft.com, digg.com, yahoo.com
and loads of others websites wont work, i dont even get a response when
i ping the websites.

i tried IE8 and Firefox 3.0 bot it makes no difference atall, tried another dns
server, but still no result ;_;

does someone know how to fix it ?

What do you use to connect to the internet? I'm using 7068 and the internet works like a charm.

Visit http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/6387-conficker-instant-eye-chart.html and see if the link in there works - if you don't see all the images, you may be infected....

I have a ADSL2+ internet connection, using a Allied Data Copperjet 1616-2p modem.

sadly the "Instand eye" website seems to be one of the websites that doesn't want
to load ; ;

Sounds like both of you have the conficker, the best solution would be to go to another computer and download a conficker removal tool, and email the tool to yourself.
Back on your email on the infected computer, and download the tool from your email to the infected computer.
Most importantly, rename the .EXE to "irrelevant".exe, as conficker will otherwise intervene.

What's so bad about this conficker stuff?
Never had any issues with my computer or anything...

Same here, Safari loaded all of the 6 images immediatly.

well i tried a few a few virus scanners and a rootkit scanner, but i dont
seem to have any kind of virus. been wondering, maybe its my router that
has problems with handling windows 7, i installed an older build that i tried
out once at my work office, didn't have any probs then, but now that same
build wont work here at home either

Flush your DNS cache if you haven't already done that.

i had the same problem with 7068 after a while i couldnt goto justin.tv then i installed 7077 and i can again

OK, back to the issue at hand - the OP is having issues surfing.

@OP - what sort of malware scans have you performed?

It seems to be an issue with my router, i'm currently at my brothers house
with my laptop, connected to his router and everything works..

As said before im using a CopperJet 1616-P2 modem, connected to that i
have a Speedtouch Router for the wifi. None of my other computers, both
vista and xp have any problems connecting to the websites that wont work
under windows 7 .. im rather clueless on what it might be tbh

Well i think i found the problem, my guess is that the windows 7 drivers for my wifi
adapter aint working correctly (Dell Wireless 1450 Dualband WLAN Mini-PCI Card).

When i use a cable between the Speedtouch instead of Wifi it works fine, Tho i dont
understand why some sites would work and some not when i use WIFI to connect.

almost same here, microsoft sites dont work but test update worked :huh: ive googled a lot today and ive read something about setting the MTU.. Im no networking pro but at 1 point i think i did something to my modem/router putting in 1500 to MTU and it worked for a while.. Too bad I think i did something else more terrible to it that today it wouldnt do it again.. Some networking pros can help here would be appreciated, i really loved how my friends envy my Windows7 RC lolz
