The 90 Day evaluation is hard coded into the system. You cannot rearm it.

@richc46 FYI it does not work on the Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Trail downloaded from Microsoft. When we first downloaded the ISO from Microsoft we setup a testing machine when it was 2 days from expiring we did not want to rebuild it because we were deep in to testing with some complicated software. We tried all the rearm ticks and none of them would give us more time. We then tried rearming another machine that had about 20 more days before expiring and it would not rearm as well.

Yes. At command prompt "slmgr /rearm". To check the number of rearms left "slmgr /dlv". It starts with a rearm count of 5 giving you a total of 6 evaluation periods of up to 100 days each [(90 + 10(before activation)]. That's 600 days!

I'm surprised! I'm pretty up to date about activation info, but I've never come across anything that says this is possible, legally and keeping within the EULA. Although, there are certain hacks available which can do this...and more.

The OP included the phrase "90 day of evaluation period from the enterprise version of windows 7". I interpreted that to mean the special limited availability 90-Day trial version of 7 Enterprise available here:

It's a special trial version that cannot be purchased when the trial is over but does allow 5 rearms. However AlexRD will have to say whether that is what he was referring to. If there is some sort of 90-Trial associated with a normal VLA of Enterprise, I apologize for the confusion. (I've been using the special 90-day trial version in the link above and have rearmed it twice so far.)

I just received my Windows 7 Home Premium disk and was going to nuke it anyway so I thought I would try this just for fun. When I ran the slmgr /dlv command it showed rearm count 5 . I then ran the slmgr /rearm and it said it completed and asked me to reboot. When my desktop loaded it still showed only 45 days left and I figured it didn't' work after all. A short time latter the watermark just disappeared altogether though. When I went to the system panel I could see why. I needed to activate again, did that and it now says "valid for 90 days". slmgr /dlv now shows rearm count 4. If anybody wants more info on my setup don't wait to long to ask because in a couple of days I'm replacing Enterprise with Home Premium.

Thank you for the testing. A moot point for me at this point in time. However there must be 2 versions of the 90 Trial; we downloaded ours from Microsoft, the web link here is not the same one we used, plus we downloaded before the Trial may have been publicly available (not positive on that). We were unable to get the 90 Trial to rearm, at one point in our testing we were desperate to get one of the test machines to rearm because we were trying to get a piece of software working in Windows 7 and the vendor was helping us over several days. Once the 90 Trial expired the machine would reboot once every hour and there was nothing you could do to stop it.

I'm pretty sure that link is where I downloaded my trial from. I just went back and downloaded the x86 version. I don't know if it matters but I forgot to mention I'm running the x64 version.

I'm using the x86 version, so I guess they both behave the same...600 Days!

It would be interesting to know if it's possible to in-place Upgrade from Enterprise to Home Premium using the workaround to change any version to another: Upgrade the Windows 7 RC to any retail version « Icrontic Tech

On the one hand, it's Enterprise with a completley different licensing scheme, on the other it will be modified to make the HP installer think it is HP and just doing a Repair Install. Could work.

I wonder also, although the part you quoted above sounds pretty clear...but then again so did "90-Day Trial".

I also have a related question. What would happen if you wipe your drive (or install a new one) and then reinstall the 90-Day Trial version. Could it be again activated 6 times as it was originally?:devil:

I would be very surprised if it worked. The key is hard coded, the activation database surely keeps tracks of activation history. Not to mention the ethical side of this; it's clearly against the EULA.
