Hello everyone!
I'm going to tell you my little story about what I think is the biggest Windows 7 crash I ever heard of...
It all started when I leaved home and left my laptop on. The power was cut off and it kept on going on the battery for a few minutes until it went into sleep mode. My dad thought to shutdown my laptop thinking that when the power will come back it will probably damage the laptop. So, he didn't see the shutdown button on the LOG IN screen and he just held the power button down until the laptop shut down.
When I came home and tried to start my laptop it didn't want to load my Windows 7 Professional x64 OS, and instead it just gave me the Startup Repair screen you can see in the attachements.
I've tried to repair the OS with the Startup repair option about 10-12 times but it didn't work. It said something about that it can't be completed successfully and that I should try it again after restarting. (it also said that a file, sorry I can't remember its name now, was corrupted...something with sys*****) I tried it so many times... but without any improvements.
I entered the Command Prompt screen and wanted to see why it didn't load and if I still have all of my important documents. I did, but when I wanted to access the partitions with CMD commands I saw that there were 3 partitions instead of the 2 I had before.
The C:\ partition where I had installed the Windows 7 OS was now a 100mb partition with some Windows 7 files and it said the partition was System Reserved.
The D:\ partition which was the DVD-ROM was now a new partition with all that I initially had in C:\ (including all of the Windows 7 files and my files), and partition E:\ remained the same.
I tried with the "DISKPART" command to see more things but i didn't really make any commands to change the contents of my "new" partitions.
A friend of mine told me about this forum and of a post he saw, a MBR post (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20864-mbr-restore-windows-7-master-boot-record.html), and I tried the things explained here. My DVD-ROM doesn't work so I had to try to boot it from a removable device so I used a program recommended by the same friend called "UNETBOOTIN" and burned an original Windows 7 Professional x64 on my USB flash drive (I got it from MSDNA so it's not a pirate version) using my brother's PC from which I am posting now.
I changed the order of booting on my laptop from the BIOS and put the first device to boot from to be a Removable device and the first time it did work, it booted the Windows 7 installation from the USB flash drive, so I continued with the instructions from the MBR post.
After I restarted it didn't really work and it showed me the same System Repair window. I restarted 2-3 more times and I tried again the Startup Repair option. This time it said it successfully "repaired" something and that I would have to restart in order to see if Windows would load or not. After I restarted I got the second screen...the awfull black one you can see in the attachments and I can't get past it. I can't even access CMD so I can try to copy my files on another HDD and then try to format.
So, my question is: HOW CAN I ACCESS CMD? or better, MAKE WINDOWS 7 BOOT? and work properly without any of my files getting lost.(that would be the best case)
