1280x720 or 720P resolution through VGA?

    Hey sevenforums community

I recently installed Windows 7 RC for a media center and have replaced my former Vista HP. However I have a problem trying to get a 720P resolution from the VGA.

I am trying to force 1280 x 720 on my HDTV via VGA. I am using the 780G onboard video with the latest ATI catalyst drivers (9.4), I have tried to force the resolution through Catalyst however it just won't change. The strange thing is it works perfectly in HDMI (displays as 1280x720).

The native resolution of the HDTV is 1360x768 however I want it at 720P so I can duplicate the display with my 720P projector.

    Can anybody help me out
    Thanks

1366x768 is 720p. Your TV's resolution is 1366x768 not 1280x720 so don't try to force that resolution on it. They are both the same aspect ratio so the image will not be distorted in any way, but running at a non native resolution will impact quality. Your pc is seeing its native resolution so leave it at that.

Confusing I know but check your tv's actual resolution in the manual.
