I leave a lot of my side panels off, because I am always working on switching parts, HD's, etc. And yes it does run cooler with more air flow.

Man goes to see his doctor.....
Doc I don't feel good, can you run some tests?

Sure....So he brings in his dog, the dog looks at him, and takes a sniff.....
Then he brings in his cat, and the cat does the same thing.......

Half hour later the doctor walks in; and says, Nope, according to the tests I ran you have a clean bill of health. That'll be $200.

The guy goes off, and says "Tests? What tests?", All you did was parade your pets in an outa here.

That's right, $100 for the Lab report, and $100 for the Cat scan.

he said the cat will get electrocuted and that dust will get in there, but would dust get in there/ build in there with the case ON?
    Um, what?
Yes, you will get more dust, but it can reduce temperatures, especially if you have a hot processor. And yes, you will still get dust with the side panel no, just not as much (as said).

I used to leave both my side panels off my intel p4 for some damn reason even when i had proper cooling that friggin chip was just still too damn hot so i left the cases off more air flow and no more random shut downs i dont have any pets but since you have pets i wouldnt recommend taking it off due to more things can go wrong

pets are curious creatures and will jump inside trying to play with something in your case cats im pretty sure they would bat at the cpu and most certainly meet a 9 life doom so yes keep it on dont worry about too much cooling if you have a prebuilt system
PLEASE use some punctuation in there, that was actually difficult to read.
