    ATI Radeon HD 3650 AGP install problem

    Hey,
    I got major problem (i think). I've been trying to get my drivers working for like 2 days now (bout 20-30 hours). So i just installed windows 7 and i can't get my graphic card working. Problem is that, if i install just driver from amd home page then i dont even get message by windows that it wants restart... If i do hotfix then after install it asks for restart and after boot logo throws me blue screen and computer asks for system restore. After doing that (5-10 minutes) ... Everything back at start. So if i try to manually install drivers (from device manager, it also asks for restart and same blue screen with system restore). I tryed also to change that .inf file by dl-ing it from here by someone's guide and replaceing with original one (with 9.11 version) but result was again blue screen. I've tryed older drivers also... for example 9.9, and with latest drivers (10.7).

    Thank you for your time,
    Zofix.

    i had that card at one point best drivers were 10.5 or 10.6 but i think 10.5 worked better but that is my opinion with the old apg boards to much upgrading that cards drivers can result in component failure happened to me with a 4670 agp card basicly the card went out due to the drivers installed so be carefull

    other then that the 3650 should run fine also uninstall all ur ati drivers then install a fresh driver with no other traces of ati drivers that might be your problem the drivers are installed over each other

    Hmm,
    I got yea most up to date drivers and i've tryed even older ones so nothing works... I've put at the moment my windows XP back since i can't work without graphic card very well.

    Each time i put new drivers i did 2x restart since 1st time i removed graphic driver softwere from programs list and then ran system thro with driversweeper what asked for restart. So yeah each time they had fresh page.

    Part of the problem is the antiquated SiS chipset on your motherboard (741GX, 963L), and either very limited support for the AGP controller in Windows 7 or outright no support in the native AGP driver.

    One thing to try before installing any ATI driver is to install this,

    SiS - Welcom to Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation.

    using Compatibility Mode,

    Drivers - Install Vista Drivers on Windows 7

    and then, again before installing the ATI driver run Windows Update and there should be an update for the AGP driver. Then the ATI driver should install, of which only the AGP Hotfix driver,

    Catalyst AGP Hotfix - Radeon HD 4000 Radeon HD 3000 and Radeon HD 2000 Series AGP products

    will work with your card as there is no support for the HD 2xxx series and up AGP cards in the regular catalyst drivers.
