    MSI A6200 206US HDMI Problem

This is a new laptop with Windows 7. I was displaying on my TV set through HDMI but it stopped working.

I set the TV set to HDMI input and then select the Fn+F2 to toggle to HDMI but nothing. I tryed the Display Setting screen but it does not detect another display.

I suspected that some drivers were updated and was causing the problem so I reinstalled from the DVD all the Intel drivers.

When I bring the laptop up from sleep mode and the TV is on in HDMI input, the "Resuming Windows" displays on the TV set and then goes away and appears on the laptop. After that the Fn+F2 does not switch displays.

One thing I know I did install after it was initially working was the free Avast Anti-Virus. This does startup with the computer and may be interferring.

What steps do I take to troubleshoot this problem?

How about closing your Anti-virus and trying it again?

First I removed Avast as a startup and the HDMI worked for a while until I did a Fn+F2 then it stopped. I finally uninstalled Avast and everything works.

Odd, but good you figured it out. As alternative to Avast, I'd suggest the free version of Avira Antivir:

    Avira Antivir

Or many here use the free Microsoft Security Essentials

    MSE

Anti viruses (specifically AVG) are known to cause issues in Windows 7.
Yay for badly coded, old software!
