I experienced a similar problem on my ASUS laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium randomly changing from its native 1366x768 resolution to 1024x768. I have discovered no way to fix this problem, but ASUS has released nVidia VGA drivers. I hope this fixes things, but if it doesn't, does anyone have any ideas?

Resolution problem
Hello, I used to run on 1440 x 900 using vista 32 bit. When I installed windows 7, it changed to Generic PnP Monitor and on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. It won't allow me to change the resolution to 1440 x 900, the variable does not exist from 12x - 16x. Help, please? ~maplr4life
