Widescreen on 1024x768 resolution

Some time ago, I purchased a Sharp XR-32X DLP with nativ resolution 1024x768.
I also built my own screen but decided to make it in 16:9 format, since most movies are in this standard.

Now to the problem:
Is there a way to limit the desktop to 16:9?

I don't want to change the resolution to 1024x576 since this is not supported by the projector, i only would like to limit the desktop to this resolution.
I also don't want the projector to streach the image, since this distorts the image maging circles oval etc.

This would mean having black stripes both over and under the picture which is fine!

Thankful for tips...

Are you running in cloned? If so, then no.

If you run extended, then just set the monitors individually.

Screen Resolution for Widescreen
I bought this new laptop, it's a 15.2" widescreen, but the highest resolution I can choose is 1024x768... I thought it was the graphics card drivers issue, but at Device Manager it says "Windows determined your driver is up to date". I've installed all windows update and now I'm stuck. Everything...

2nd monitor max resolution at 1024x768
So I recently just hooked up a 2nd monitor to my computer just to play with it. Unfortunately, it will not go above 1024x768. I would like to set it to 1280x1024. The monitor is a Digimate DGL20, it's an LCD that was made back in 2005. The screen's max resolution might be set to 1024x768, but if...

1024X768 resolution leave a gap!
For reasons due to health and sight I like to use 1024x768 and not 1280x1024 on my 19"lcd monitor. If I set it to 1024x768 then there is a gap top and bottom of the screen that cannot be moved. In Windows XP I can set it to 1024x768 and there is no gap. I reckon it must be driver issues in...
