Sorry, your card does not meet the minimum system requirements for either Vista or Windows 7.

Best advice is to upgrade to better card. You can get an AGP DX 9, or better even 10, card real cheap all the way up to what I run, in specs.

You could try installing the XP driver through the device manager, though.

NVIDIA has never made a driver for your card and Vista. On the download page, XP is the newest OS supported. The XP driver may work, like I said though.

i downloaded then extracted the mentioned drivers..and manually installed it..it's working fine but i need to lower the hardware acceleration to disable direct3d coz every time i open a software that relies on directx i get a bsod..
    thanks for the help btw

    You're welcome.

I'm not really sure how to disable hardware acceleration on Win 7 graphics, but you can try to set a basic theme instead an Aero one.

Right click the desktop and choose personalize. Then scroll down to the basic and high contrast themes section and try one of those.

Maybe running like that will alleviate the bsod, but I am doubting it.

Win7 defaulted to using the basic theme already..i don't want aero since it doesn't work anyway...

i recently found out how to edit hardware acceleration settings thru:
Change display settings>Advanced settings>Troubleshoot tab>Change settings..then move the slider to the chosen preference

I have a Geforce4 mx 440 working on Windows 7, using the forceware 71.90 drivers, no problems with it, so maybe the drivers will work on your card, without having to turn down acceleration

i manually installed the drivers latest drivers offered by nvidia [93.71_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe]..but everytime i play games that uses directx3d - windows 7 crash and shows a BSOD..so i turned down hardware accelerations to disable directx3d and the games plays fine - san the acceleration.

The driver you mentioned is older..does it really work without turning acceleration down?..i really want to make sure before i install it..and qould you be so kind to give me the download link?
    Thanks
