new video card

Hi. The Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 doesn't work in Windows 7. Can you give me advice on buying a new inexpensive card. I asked a Nvidia tech and he said the video card was not designed to work with Windows 7. If anyone could advise me on the latter issue I would appreciate it. deanie44.

You didn't list the most important thing and that's your motherboard. I'm guessing you are using an AGPx8 video slot.

If you want to play games, even many new ones on highest settings, check my specs. That card is amazing. Otherwise, here is a list for you to consider. One of the HD cards should do well.

and will also have little to no Windows 7 support. If you want to use Windows & and get at least proper video driver support you're going to have to look at something like this,

All things considering in your position I wouldn't put any money into parts that will work with Windows 7, but save up and buy a new computer that is compatible/capable.
