Latest ATI Catalyst Driver for Radeon X1550 on Se7en?
Hi, i'm using a Radeon X1550 on Windows 7 build 7137. What are the latest drivers avaiable for this card? Now i'm using the Catalyst 8.1 for Vista, and I can't install the Catalyst 9.3 for Vista.

x86 = AMD Support Search
x64= http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pa...ords=&items=20 Extract, then install using the device manager if you're having problems. |

ATI X1550 causing BSD w/Drivers 8.1-9.3
I have tried all ATI Catalyst driver packages between 8.1 and 9.3 and I can boot into safe mode, but not into Windows 7 RC Normal Mode. After the "Starting Windows" screen I receive a BSD that flashes and then restarts the machine. I have updated my Intel BIOS and I still cannot get my X1550 to work under Windows 7 RC. From the thread it appeared it worked for two of you with 8.1 and 9.3, but I have not had the same success. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers in Safe Mode and trying to get into windows that way? Is your card AGP?

Well 9.5 is the latest, but the 8.612 are the exact same drivers and they came out on May 5th for Windows 7.

I installed the latest Catalyst (9.5) over the weekend for my Radeon 2400+ and to my suprise it all went through without a problem....First time for a couple of years that I have actually used Ccc. It re-installed the current driver and all is well.

Glad to hear it. ATI might not be having the best time with their drivers ATM, but I believe we will get some nice bug fixes in the next few versions. Heck, Windows 7 isnt really even out yet, so they are either trying it all out themselves or going off user basis which shows how much they care.

I was able to determine my issue with my X1550 was caused by a conflicting Intel video driver for the embedded video adapter. Even though I was disabling it in the BIOS, the driver had been loaded in the O/S. After disabling the embedded adapter in Device Manager, my X1550 works correctly. Issue resolved!
