Laptop and Multi Display problems - please advice

    Hey,

I have a laptop (VGA only output) that I connect to my TV. With XP, I could use both displays at the same time - that is: both the display on the laptop and the TV.

Win 7, however, only lets me use one display at a time. When my TV is connected, it somehow becomes the main display automaticly, and the laptop display goes black.

In the nvidia control panel, where I am supposed to be able to choose if I want to use single or multiple displays, I only get the choice of "single display".

Please advice! Is this possible to solve? I want to be able to "clone" and use both displays at the same time!

PS. I have a nividia geforce go 6100 chipset, and I've updated it with (as far I can find) the latest driver.

    Welcome to SF, Misscomputer.

Just to make sure, you are using your alt-(monitor fn key) and have had no success?

    Please post your System Specs:

HOW TO FILL OUT YOUR SYSTEM SPECS

In the line at the top of www.SevenForums.com you will see UserCP.
That is an abbreviation for User Control Panel.
    Click on UserCP.
In the left-hand column, under Your Profile you will see Edit System Spec.
    Click on Edit System Spec
You can copy and paste from the output of Speccy, Speccy - System Information - Free Download to fill out much of the info. Be sure to use the Other Info section of your System Specs for such info as your optical drive, your wireless adapter, your speakers, etc.

I don't see the Win 7 driver from Nvidia for your chip. One person used the Vista driver and was able to use both monitors.

hey guys, thanks for responding so quickly.

the win+p option doesn't work, I mean the options show up but nothing happens when I choose either one of them..

I'm going to check the driver again and try the Vista version if that isn't the one I have installed already, thanks for the sudgestion! :)
