This thread has become pretty old now but if anyone is still following it I have another question... What do you guys think of a GTX 260 instead of GTX 460... I know the GTX 260 isn't going to score the same numbers as a 460 but I kinda like the look of those evga gtx 260 models and a guy wants to sell me one for $100 shipped while the GTX 460 would cost me roughly $150 for the ordinary one or $200 for the 1GB or Super clocked version... The one he wants to sell me comes with everything and in the box but he claims it's 4-5 months old and was never registered with evga so I may be able to still get the limited lifetime warranty though I doubt it since they normally require registration within 30 days for lifetime warranty... What do those GTX 260 models score on windows experience rating?

link to the one hes offering me

Ken what, a geforce 9800Gt still kicks ass with all new games with optimisation. Its only fussy people or graphics lovers who want these mad displays and bouts of excellence.

if i were you just spend a little cash and get something that will be usable for the new games that come out this year and next year dx11 is out and games are starting to use it only a matter of time you will be going in the back pocket again for a upgrade

Dx 9 is looking past it now within Graphics terms, but if your happy, then stick with it, as most games will be compatible with DX 9 and Dx 10.

Not really a graphics card lover nor do I want bouts of excellence lol... My setup is all pretty standard and I went with the best budget items I could for the build, aside from the case since I could have bought a basic $20 dollar Rosewill one instead of the $69 dollar one but I gave my other computer to my younger brother, minus the graphics card and hard drives (Gave him a 200GB hard drive I had from another computer and put a 40GB I had laying around in that computer and sold it for a low price) and now I would like to go ahead and get a better graphics card for myself and give my brother the 9600GT so he isn't stuck with onboard

It really wasn't a problem to begin with... Was just looking for input and ideas... It wasn't so much an issue thread... The price range is $100 I guess since that's what I'm most likely going to pay the guy for the GTX 260 unless within the next couple days something pops up as a black friday deal that is better and within the same price range
