GTX 460 + AMD 770 Chipset causing conflict?
Heya all :)
Before I start, I've had some probs with my computer which have been resolved here: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...ck-screen.html and since then my BSOD and Monitor have been fixed (I haven't had any further issues since last update on the post!) but I'm now having problems with my 460 card which I'm hoping you can advise me on!
I'm having a lot of problems with my GTX 460 card and the drivers. When playing games (mainly LOTRO) with the latest graphics drivers my screen keeps flashing on and off, my LCD power light is remaining steady at this time but the screen will go black, then come back up, go black again, then come back up, rinse and repeat. It's very inconvenient when this happens, especially if I'm in an instance and healing! If I use earlier drivers (at the moment I'm trying 258.96) it doesn't seem to do the flashing on and off but I'm still having problems with the drivers. I've had my games crash and stop responding, freezing which requires a reset of my computer as I can't even get to ctrl+alt+del to try and cancel the game. I have searched on the internet and seen similar problems with the GTX 460 card and I also found this thread: http://forums.nvidia...howtopic=180504 which someone mentions that there is a conflict with the 460 cards and the AMD 770 chipset. I have phoned up for an RMA but because it's been more than 28 days they can only replace the card if it's tested as faulty, if it turns out that it is not faulty they said I'll be charged and the card returned to me. I'm convinced that there is nothing wrong with my 460 card but there's some conflict going on with my mobo and the card.
Is there still a conflict with the 460 card and the AMD Chipsets? Is it more likely that that's what's causing the problems? Feedback would be most welcome as over the last couple of days I've become so frustrated with the issues that I've been plagued with since getting the 460 card that I've hardly been online to play LOTRO and would like to get back to playing games peacefully without any problems!!!
Oh before I forget, I had the GTX 460 in a different system that didn't have AMD chipset and I had no problems with it whatsoever, which leads me to believe that there is nothing wrong with the card at all!!
Many thanks :)
