Integrated graphics isn't recognized

    Integrated graphics isn't recognized


    Hi there,
    I bought Dell Inspiron 1564 n series (without OS) and put Windows 7 Ultimate 32 in it.OS installed fine but integrated graphics isn't recognized.I went to Dell,downloaded chipset drivers,but on intel graphics drivers I get answer "This computer does not meet minimum requirements for installing the software."Mind you first I have tried 64 bit Windows 7 enterprise version but with same result.I thought it's 64bit thing so I went to 32bit.I think I tried it all,plz help!
    Specs of the laptop are:
    > Platform : Intel Calpella
    > Mainboard : Dell 0JY92C
    > Chipset : Intel HM55
    > Processor : Intel Core i5 450M @ 2400MHz
    > Physical Memory : 3072MB
    > Video Card : Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
    > Hard Disk : Seagate ST9320325AS ATA Device (320GB)
    > DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT32N
    > Monitor Type : 1K0R2€156WH2 - 15 inches
    > Network Card : Broadcom BCM4310 USB Controller
    > Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8101 PCIe Fast Ethernet Adapter
    > Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7600 (32-bit)
    > DirectX : Version 11.00

    Hi Oldo,welcome to the forums,Dont these laptops come with the Ati radeon card installed? Have a look in the bios to see if the onboard graphics is enabled or disabled

    Hi pebbly,
    In bios (PhoenixBIOS A12 Version) there is no info mentioning graphics card.At Main page there is CPU type,speed, cache size,HDD size...Advanced tab- there is:
    Intel Speedstep .......enabled
    Virtualization ...........e
    Integrated NIC ........e
    USB Emulation..........e
    External USB ports....e
    USB Wake support ...e
    Sata Operation .......AHCI
    Adapter warnings ....e
    Wireless
    Turbo mode ...........e
    and thats about the data I can change there apart from boot order and password.
    Other suggestions?

    Oldo ,on Dells website it only lists drivers for 64bit http://support.dell.com/support/down...D=INSPIRON1564 are you sure you do not have the Ati radeon installed ?

    Yeah I'm sure these laptops come with integrated graphics or ATI dedicated card.Mine is only integrated graphics.I tried those Dell drivers and also Intel HD drivers here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...01&FamilyId=39, none is working

    oldo, visit the Intel site and let it scan your laptop for the correct driver Identify your product

    Yeah that was like first thing what I did,it updated my chipset but It says graphic device isn't supported, I also downloaded system information utility which should give your OS correct info about devices.
    One thing-when I click on advanced settings in Screen resolution it says ATI ATOMBIOS 8bit chip type- is it just common name windows uses when it can't find other than "Standard VGA Adapter"?

    the ati atombios refers to the ati radeon card , just humour me and download the radeon driver of the website install it and see what happens , also download this little information tool SIW | Download go with the free version

    Seeing as you are unsure as to which it has for the graphics go here,

    Dell - Drivers and Downloads

    and use your service tag number to find out which it does have.
