Alot of graphics cards will be much better then what you have installed... Do you want ATI or Nvidia? what do you want it to be able to play well? the following link is the best current deal for a good GPU that won't break the bank... it's $55 up front but with 30 dollar mail in rebate the end costs is only $25 bucks which is pretty good imo... I just wish they did away with mail in rebates and gave people the end price as straight up... but if your not against mail in rebates it's a good upgrade for you unless you want superior gaming graphics

are there any graphics cards under 150$ and still work very well?
Without knowing your system specs it's really hard to say what's the best card for your rig. Typically we'd like to see what cpu you have, and more importantly, what PSU you have.

Typical HP with a 300W power supply in it that is likely just adequate enough to run the computer as it left the factory. Going to have to factor in a new power supply to go with a new video card.
Probably a Hipro rated for 300W that is really only capable of 150W... So the above poster is correct, you will also have to factor in a replacement psu if you want a graphics card in the $150 range... But here is a good power supply that does what it's rated for according to bench test done by Jonnyguru (He's well known for benching power supplies and doing reviews online @ jonnyguru.com)... The PSU is linked below but priced at $45 though with this code "EMCZZNN23" you can have it for 29.99 with free shipping for the next 48 hours.... Also including a link to an ATI 5770 that will keep you near the $150 mark while only exceeding it if you buy both items by $15 dollars
