    Thanks Safe mode did the trick. So what kind of setting do I have to change in order to make it work without safe mode? The refresh rate is set to 60hz, there is no other options in the list.

    have you run it out of safe mode since the changed settings?

    Well, I havent changed any settings. I just ran the computer in safe mode, successfully tested the screen and then booted it back up in normal mode. But the screen dosn't work now either after I booted it back up.

    Couldnt I just change the resolution in normal mode? I have tried that by the way, no resolution seem to work.

    well in safe mode i just realized it uses the on-board graphics not the card it must be the card settings. in normal desktop can you right click on the screen and in the context menu has it got settings for the nvidia card?
