    DirectX November 2010 update

       Information

    Version:
    9.29.1973
    Date Published:
    11/30/2010

Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Be sure to uncheck the Bing Bar install option.

Seems if you're running the Windows 7 SP1 RC you don't need it, says version is already up to date.

Isn't a newer version. Still same old June package. Not sure why MS shows it as an updated version, maybe just to get you to install Bing bar.

Same here. Then again the web installer has always been on the flaky side, better to wait till they put up the redistributable.

Yeah, I always use the standalone, but doesn't seem to be out yet I guess. When it comes out, I'll see if it says the same.

That's interesting. Wonder if it's downloading the wrong files.

If you extract the web installer and run the setup inside it this file shows up (was an INF but changed it to txt for convenience sake),

    dxupdate.txt

It is also not there when you extract but only shows up after running the setup.

From the list of what it is checking on the Microsoft server it almost looks like they haven't updated it on their end yet seeing as the latest files listed in that are from June 2010. As far as I know the web installer doesn't really change from one update to the next, they just change what it looks at when it queries the download server and compares what is already installed.

So it indeed looks like they haven't updated the files on their end. Thanks stormy.
