hello ickymay, the driver didn't work for me unfortunately. i've been scouring the net for a fix and i might have found one. it involves flashing my card's bios. it'll have to wait until i get off work.

I'm suprised you are going to have to flash your card's bios, I don't suppose you have another OS running that you could compare ?
It sounds more likely to me that your driver install is being "blocked" by a damaged or inncorect file , which means as was suggested by "bansh" you need to unninstall the driver then run a driver cleaner thoroughly more than once and possibly in safe mode just to make sure all traces are gone before you attempt a new driver install ??
