Any reason to get GTX580 yet?

Well, look at my system specs please and tell me if there is any need for a SLI 580 replacement. I've seen the benchmarks and in most games it's not much more than 15-20 fps more than the 480's which allready pull all my games (70) completely smooth. I'm an enthusiast amd usually need my hardware to be as new as possible. But is there really any reason to waste that much money for such a "little" gain in performance?

if you are doing sli with two 480's i would see no reason to get the new cards more or less a waste of money unless you plan on taking back both cards and getting one gtx 580 card but you are as good as it gets right now no need to spend more money

    Hello Hawkin,

Since you have 480's, you will not see enough gain to justify the cost for 580's in my opinion. Unless you have some sort of "Trade UP" option that you still qualify for with the 480's, I would recommend to wait until the next card is released to see what it may offer.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Yes. I'm very happy with my current setup, and there is no way I will spend that kind of money on something I don't need.

With computers, I don't recommend buying new hardware for the sake of simply trying to keep up.

    hi Hawkin90,

IMO when it comes to upgrading GPU's or CPU's for that matter, I once read somewhere that you wont see much difference unless you skip a production sequence, for eg if you had an 8800GT (as i did) no point getting the 9800GT, so I waited for the GTX200 series and so on.

I'm just about to pick up my second 480 and cant wait.

    cheers
