    Ati radeon strange problem

I have this strange issue....i work on my pc,internet browsing, downloading etc, then i switch OFF the t.v. i go away and let the pc ON for downloads, and when i come back the pc is still on and running BUT when i switch ON the T.V. i have no signal/icon like someone removed the HDMI cable from the t.v.
So i press the reset button and everything is back to <<normal>> until the next time.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Edit:i have the problem when i install the ati catalyst,when i completely remove catalyst/driver everything working fine.(I tried 10.10 10.11 10.12)
But this is not the solution because i need the catalyst installed for gaming and HD video.
Questions... is the microsoft driver (windows updates)capable for gaming and HD video watching?
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which card is better from my ati radeon 4890 oc edtition 1 GB GDDR5?
I want it to be capable for 1080p gaming and Hd 1080p videos!!

try turning the tv on first then send the signal from the card through hdmi that is how i do it my tv won't allow me to just pop it up cause i changed resoulutions

You must first turn on selected monitor then proceed to the resolution change then the tv should reconize it right away with the tv off the card won't send a signal but when you have it on the card will know to send it or it'll just go back to the original monitor

I hope you understand where im going with this and also hope it helps you figure out you're problem

Is that card better than my card?
    GIGABYTE - Graphics Card - ATI - PCI Express Solution - Radeon HD 5000 series - GV-R567ZL-1GI
    -----------------------------
    Look...please read this carefully.
Because my ati radeon 4890 OC edition GDDR5 1GB is ready to die and because i safe money to build a new pc in few months i DONT want to spend too much money right now,i just want a card to be a little better than ati radeon 4890 OC edition GDDR5 1GB.
I attach my card specs so we can know better what we looking for, just i little better card.
The plan is to buy now a good graphic card for 1080p video and gaming and when i build a new pc i will give this card to my little nephew as a gift and i will buy a monster graphic card.
But i want a good card who is capable for 1080p gaming and 1080p video.
My ati radeon 4890 OC edition GDDR5 1GB is capable (was) for high end gaming and videos,so i little better graphic card in common sense will be better.
I choose gigabyte cards because i have gigabyte motherboard and maybe the compatibility will be nice.
So is that card better and stronger mine?

do you have any hibernation or sleep mode enabled also i did mention this issue in above post of the card loosing signal when turning off the flat panel tv

the only time it doesn't loose signal if you are changing chanels but for the most part that has happened to me if i dont set the tv to hdmi before swapping monitors it wont pick it up correctly if it isnt on that moment and when you shut it off i think you only broke the signal and would have to reset

I would just use a screen saver power mode and just let windows turn off the monitor that way you will still save power but can move the mouse to activate it

use the power plan feature make a custom plan that way windows can shut the monitor down for you and can walk away from downloads .....I hope this helps I don't think it is the card personaly unless it really has bad lines and black screens keeping display from being shown i think you're card is fine
