BC2: all settings on high, 8x AA. The card didn't break a sweat. Still avg ~90fps!

    tw33k,
Just waiting on my new AMD 890FX mobo. I'm going to live with my GTX260 for the meantime then jump to ATI.
Thinking when I do I want to crossfire two for the first time. Do you or anyone else out there have any ideas to pass along. Not looking to spend any more than $450-600 max for the two cards and even less if I can ! Or would just the one 6970 or 6950 be better?

You can get a 6950 for around $300 (probably less if you looked hard enough). No joke, flashing it to a 6970 BIOS is dead easy and card is awesome! I've never done crossfire before but I know people that have and 2 unlocked 6950s would give you a very powerful system. For me, I'm gonna stick with 1 card because it's all I need.

tw33k, Cheers to that the more I read it sounds like one great card can be superior to two cards of lesser power. I'd still like to here from others running crossfire. The new card sounds like it's gaming like a mad man !

At that resolution, that's pretty impressive.

    Congrats (again... lol).

You should do a couple of MP runs. Arica Harbour on Conquest is pretty demanding.

Yeah, I'm loving it. I'll look into your suggestion.

As a multiple crossfire setup user = stick with a single GPU.

Far less headaches. The extra grunt is not always worth it

Well, looks like a 6950 for me.

I game at a much lower 1080P, so from the sounds of it that card should be able to handle anything I throw at it fairly easy.

Yep - the 6950 cross flashed with a 6970 BIOS = good performance @ 1920x1080 for the majority of games.
