    No signal to monitor

I have 2 Nvidia GTS 250s SLI together that have developed some sort of problem About half the time I boot the computer they don't send a signal to the monitor. If I unplug the connector and plug into a different port on one of the card it works fine until the next time I reboot and I have to move it again. This happens sometimes after I've left the computer running not being used for a long period of time. Here again the same fix works. I've had this computer for about a year now but this problem has just started, although I've noticed for quite awhile that I didn't see the bios screen at a start up.

I've done the normal stuff. Upgraded to the latest drivers, removed the cards and cleaned the contacts and made sure the computer was dust free and had plenty of air incase it was an overheating problem. Still does the same. When I move the HDMI connector to a different port it works fine for as long as I'm actually using the computer.

    Anyone have any ideas.

    Hey there,

I posted this on a similar thread:

"...Would you happen to have your TV or secondary monitor hooked up to your computer? When my TV is hooked up, occasionally the desktop goes over to the TV and leaves me with a blank monitor. I still hear the logon chimes and whatnot, but no logon screen. Maybe hit Windows key + P several times to see if you can't get it to switch desktops?"

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Heather, but I don't have anything else hooked up. I have looked everywhere but I have yet to find an answer. I just unplug it from one DVI port and plug it into another and it comes back on. Incovienent but until I determine the problem that's what I have to do. I'm not even sure replacing the video card will help and I sure hate dropping the bucks for a new one (or 2) if it's something else. Again, thanks for trying.
