    adding a second monitor

I'm trying to add a second monitor, but nothing is happening. On my PC, I've previously added a video card to my Dell PC. My normal monitor is plugged into the new video card. I'm trying to add a second monitor to the original video plug on the PC. Any suggestions?

Won't work. Your system Bios is probably set to auto in determining whether to use the on board video or the PCIE card you installed. If the new card has dual outputs use those to plug in a second monitor. Hope this helps.

BTW, "Welcome to the Seven Forums," and thank you for filling in your system specs.

Actually it will work.....my previous work PC worked exactly that way. You need to have both the on-board video and the pci video card activated in the bios and device manager, then you can click the desktop, choose resolution and configure from there. It's no different than running 3 monitors off of 2 video cards which is the the way I am currently running except that the on-board replaces one of my PCI cards.

Better solution is to get a dual output video card as Lee suggested. Welcome to seven forums.
