As far as I know for now the GTX580 is the top of the line, and I haven't heard or read any buzz of Nvidias next generation of cards.
A quick bing or google search should get you that information.

From the looks of your specs your 650 w PSU should handle the card it only requires a 600w but what you mostly need to check on is the voltage on the +12v rail(s). This link lists it as needing 42A

Reviews and benchmark search sites to take a look through nvidias next generation card after the gtx 580 - Google Search
Hope this will help a little

the GTX 590 and HD 6990 is coming soon I think. That should make the prices of other cards go down a bit.

Also don't you think you are upgrading too quick? You have a HD 6870 which is this generation.

I have the GTX 480 and love it. If you wish to wait for the latest one then most likely you won't get any card as they change so fast these days. When I find the price deal that suits me I will get a second one and run them in SLI. That will hold me just fine until I upgrade again. There are some pretty good rebates on new ones and deals online so it really is up to you. Either one is great and you will see a huge value in either one you get. If you can do it then get the 580 and wait as I am for a second 580 to match as I am doing on my 480.

I personally have the GTX 560 Ti and I don't have a single complaint. I've thrown everything I have at it and it's played everything flawlessly on MAX settings. So you could spend all most half of what you were planning and still get a great GPU.

Actually the 6870 is basically the same performance as a 5850.
Wasn't much of a step up.

Though I do agree, I don't really see the need to upgrade again so quickly.

To thefabe. Thanx for the advice,Apparantly my psu gives 60 amps,so it will run it just fine.I can't add to your rep because the forum sais i should spread my rep first...Thanx again.

    To
imeem Thanx for the advice,i think the 590 as you said would be a 2gig card,so not single anymore...I prefer the 1 core cards. And a friend of mine is buying my old card and i got a GREAT price on the 580,so its worth it.(I added to your rep)

To Techymike I was thinking of getting the 480,when i got the 6870,but the heat was an issue for me.And I never sli'd before so will maybe do it in the future when the 580 can't play the games any more... (i added to your rep)

    To
lnav83.True the 560 is a great card and cheaper, but i got a nice deal on the 580.(Added to your rep)

To Maguscreed. The 6870 is a litle bit faster than the 5850 and scores a bit higher in benchmarks...BUT the 580 scores allot higher then the 6870..(added to your rep)

So in the end i think its safe to get the 580..futerproof for at least a while.Thanx for the replies.

    Thanks for the rep.

I upgraded to the 480 just because I got a great deal on it as it sounds that you have on the 580 and I was running 2 of the ATI 3870 X2's. Those cards ran hot and took a big bite out of the 1000 watt PS.

On the neat side the new giant demo that Nvidia has way cool! Check it out. You can get it at the Nvidia website for free.

Cool, will check it out,By the way I have a 650 coolermaster GX series psu,and it runs my system PERFECTLY,so my point there is "YOU GOTTA LOVE THE SINGLE RAIL TECK"hehe,so when i sli 2x580's i will only need 850wats single rail psu...saves allot on cost. What temps does your 480 get at most?I heard they get pretty hot.
