Nvidia 570 Issues

Hey Guys,

I was recently given an Nvidia 570 that I decided to install on a separate Machine of mine for testing. It's using a 750 Watt power supply however whenever I power up, I cannot get anything on the screen whatsoever.

The recommended power supply is 550, however the CPU demands 90 Watt dedicated power supply, the CPU fan must be using at least 20 - 30 Watts alone. Then there's the SSD and various other parts and peripherals.

My question really is 750 Watts enough for this, or should I use something different?

The Mobo is: Nvidia 750i, that's PCI express enabled (it's only 2 years old, should be solid, fingers crossed).

If there's any advice people can offer, it'd be much appreciated.

I think it would be more useful to know exactly what model power supply unit we are dealing with here.
Amps are more important than watts in this scenario, so it would be best if I/we could just look at the specs for your specific power supply.

You can easily exceed the watts and not have enough amps though.

It's an Atrix power supply (720 not 750 btw) with 20A Output Max when connected to a 12V 6 Pin PCI Express power cable.

NB: I can get my hands on a CORSAIR Gaming Series GS800 High Performance 800W Power Supply Unit to test, but this will probably be in a couple of days. Is it worth the effort?

Well how about this, if you unplug the power cables from the graphics card and power on, does the card beep, or alert ?
It should, if it doesn't you may have a doa.

I can't get to the PC at the moment as I'm in another county until this evening, however I did have an Nvidia 260GTX plugged into the other PCI slot, with the power plugged in. The 570 was in the other PCI slot without power and I didn't hear any alerts from the 570 card.

I don't know if that helps, if not I'll test this again this evening separately.
