graphic card not recognized?

    if possible, remove the video card out of the computer and put it back in.

    I have a feeling that it is not loading required motherboard / chipset drivers that will allow the OS to recognize PCI devices...hence it is not even seeing the graphics card for anything other than a standard VGA device....

    Check to see if you can find updated (meaning 7 compatible / specific) drivers for your motherboard....

    there aren't any specific drivers for windows 7 but what motherboard drivers should i update ?

    Any and all that you can find that will work in Vista / Windows 7.

    Most likely it is chipset related, but I would see what ASUS has to offer in terms of updates - even look for BIOS updates as well....

    I edited my post and added info while you were replying - read it again and you'll have a good idea.

    However, as I also said, *all* that you can get from ASUS that apply to your motherboard.

    Vaatwassert, can you see your Graphics card in Device Manager? It will be under Display Adapters.
