How to switch from integrated graphic to GPU on sandybridge laptops?

Hi guys, I asking for my friend.. He installed PES (pro evolution soccer) in his com and it prompt him that his graphic card did not meet the requirement. He have at nvidia 525m GPU with 2gb vram it is impossible his laptop doesnt meet the requirement. So i guess is the sandybridge integrated graphic that is causing this. Any idea how to change to GPU? Note: His graphic card comes with optimus technology.

A graphics card's capabilities for game playing cannot be judged just by how much memory it has. There are many other factors & features it must have too. The graphics chip on your friend's laptop does not have all of the features that are required. You can't change the integrated graphics chip on a laptop & you can't fit a different one to use instead of the integrated one.

Does your friend's integrated graphics chip have Pixel Shader 3.0 which the game needs?
That's what I mean when I say there's more to it than just how much graphics memory it has.

If the game installer says the graphics card does not meet the requirements, then it's true.
The card does not have all of the features that are required. Are you saying that the game installer is wrong? Well good luck with that.

First of all update nvidia driver from nvidia site.. sometimes oem drivers can be old.
then configure optimus to prefer nvidia GPU while playing game or add that game to the list to use nvidia..

Nvidia 525m supports shader 5.0 and DX11 so i dont think there is any problems.

ofcourse optimus only supported in windows 7.. and is sometimes a bit glitchy

p.s. to pip22 its nice to try to help but please read openers post. he has laptop that has nvidia 525m and intel HD vga with optimus.

I tried adding the PES nvidia control panel and make it run on GPU but it still runs on integrated graphics. What does this means? His sandybridge laptop got problem or his software part problem

did you update nvidia drivers? (not from manufacturer site but from nvidia).
sometimes list dont work try to change global priority to always use nvidia.. (if battery run time is not an issue).
does optimus works with other software? for example HD video, other games etc..
maybe its only game check system that report intel graphics card.. if you can find a work around game will run and use nvidia?
i think this problem would be better solved with laptop manufacturer or nvidia, i recommend going to nvidia forums.
because its optimus problem (or maybe game). as i told optimus sometimes can be buggy
i had lots problems with optimus for example IE9 hardware acceleration. (driver update solved some problems)

PES still can run but the graphics is like shit. However, he can run devil may cry without any problem. I never try updating his drivers, will try it later.

Did you check the bios? there might be an option there to determine what is default card. it would be kind of pointless to have the nvidia card on board and not be able to utilize it.

If you have spare cash to throw around, you could get one of these Vidock 4 and buy whatever graphics card you want.
