cant switch from integrated graphics

    cant switch from integrated graphics


    have a hd5770 graphics card and cant seem to get it installed on a fresh windows 7 ultimste 64 install, constantly come up with integrated graphics, have tried an nvidia gt240 in to see if that would work but no luck, any ideas on how to help?

    You need to disable the on-board graphics in BIOS.

    However, according to this;

    your board does not have any onboard graphics.

    sorry about this but i cant find a way to turn off the onboard graphics,

    This for the motherboard you have listed in your specs,

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS M4A77T

    or a different one seeing as that board doesn't have onboard graphics.

    its showing up as integrated graphics in device manager and its all the same as in the specs as i put in the bio, m4a77t mobo, phenom ii 555 and currently trying the nvidia graphics as i have the drivers on disc handy

    Could you please post a screen shot of Device Manager showing the display adapter as well as the properties for it.

    Heck I'd like to know what you are connecting the monitor cable too, as there isn't a VGA port of any kind on that motherboard.

    ummm. You do know that u can press Prt Scrn on ur keyboard and paste it in paint and save it and it will be come a image file.

    Did you uninstall ur gpu's drivers before installing the HD 5770? Usually when u insert a dedicated gpu, the onboard is suppose to disable itself.

    i didnt know that thanks and i did uninstall all the catalyst drivers proir to putting that one in

    i have tried uninstalling the drivers on both occasions but they (5770 and gt240) both show up as an integrated card
