Sticky residue on bottom of new MSI Cyclone card???

Unwrapped my brand new, factory sealed card today and noticed the bottom was slightly sticky. There was this weird sticky residue on the bottom of my brand new card. AGGGGHHH! I read somewhere online that this may be a result of resin soldering? I don't know. One little goop concentration was around a soldering point. Any ideas? It's not like a runny goop it's just a residue. It's not loose.

I cleaned off as much of it as I could with alcohol.

The residue from the flux in electrical solder can be very sticky. Normally, on high end computer gear, its cleaned off after all the soldering is finished. Other than collecting dust it won't hurt anything to leave it there. You just don't want it getting on the edge connector and messing up the contacts. Alcohol would be my choice for removing it.

Is it worth getting a bottom of the line sound card
I've read that adding a sound card will make your CPU work less. Good, but one usually buys a sound card primarily for better sound. So not being in a position to buy a good sound card until perhaps my next PC (in 2 years time or so) I was wondering if it would be worth getting a bottom of the line...

Hello everyone, Just this week the XFX HD5850 I purchased for a mate decided to pass away, rather untimely considering it was only purchased in May. I've tested the card in three computers (including the system it was originally installed in) and all pointed to the card being faulty. The...

First cyclone of the season.... Who's in far north QLD?
Ok, so this doesn't apply to about 99% of the members on this forum but still thought I would share. We are likely to get our first cyclone of the season tomorrow night. Only a category 1 at this stage but will most likely end up a cat 2. This cyclone is a bit confused... went from being Cyclone...
