Nvidia Geforce 8800m gts keeps getting code 43
So before I go any further with this please let it be known right now that I am not computer savy at all, my knowledge about them is very limited. So if anyone can help me, youre gonna have to explain in simpliest terms. Almost like you were explaining to a kid, lol. Anyways here goes...
First let me start off that I have never had any problems with my laptop. But back in January I was playing World of Warcraft when my screen froze and it turned to nothing but tiny pixels of purple, green and blue. I couldnt get it to respond so I just had to shut it down.
When I turned it back on my screen resolution was set to the minimum. When I checked my device manager it said my video card had a code 43(hence why Im here). I started looking for advice on the internet of what I should do and found someone that had the exact same laptop, was playing WoW in January after the expanision came out and the samething happened to him.
Ever since then my screen has little faint white lines running through it. When I restart it there are screen lines that run vertically through the Windows loading screen. Sometimes they flicker during the loading screen sometimes they dont.
Well I tired updating the drivers for my video card but nothing has seemed to work, so Ive kinda left it alone. Ive been bummed that its become a paper weight but I kinda just said to myself its jacked and I had left it alone until yesterday.
For some reason I decided to give it another try to see if there was something I could do to get it working. So I did a google search "how to fix a code 43" and came across an article with some suggestions. In the article it had mention try uninstalling the usb universal host controllers and restarting it because it would reinstall the drivers when I turned it back on. To my surprise it worked, my graphics card was back on! But for some reason the my bluetooth was now getting a code 10.
So I reinstalled Starcraft 2 with all the updates, reinstalled my naga razer mouse and everything was good to go. I got to the the menu screen for starcraft 2 and went into the options menu to look at the video settings. Everything was working great. I walked out the room to check on something in the kitchen and when I returned the screen was black with the thick vertical green lines running through it and not responding. So I had to shut it down.
When I turned it back it on it says my graphics card now had a code 39 and under usb controllers it says I have an unknown device even though I have nothing plugged in. I dont know anymore. Should I say screw it or what? If anyone could offer advice PLEASE do.
