I want an advice about a laptop gpu.

I want to buy a new Hp laptop and I can't decide whether buy laptop with nvidia, ati or intel gma gpu.
I'm aiming to buy laptop with core i3 330m/350m/370m/380m.
I can't decide the gpu because I had hp pavilion notebook and its nvidia gpu fried in 2 years,it become very hot even by playing counter strike.
I don't want a powerful gpu I will just play few games like need for speed world. And I want an advice which gpu is cooler and better.I want to buy a laptop with maximum price $600.
what do you say about ati radeon 6470m?

I would stay away from any type of Intel video if you want to do any gaming.
I myself have always used ATI video in my builds and laptops, the issue is the laptop version is not as powerful as their desktop types of the same model, it would be better to go with the highest video card in the laptop you can get for your price since they will quickly get outdated.

well that is not a very powerful card so even 512MB wouldn't hurt it at all. It also doesn't come in any other flavors than DDR3 for the memory (another reason having 1GB of GPU ram wouldn't do much). I have a GT 540m and even this card, I don't think, would benefit from that much ram. A card like that would probably run your game at or around 25-35 FPS on low-medium settings at a low resolution. (1366x768, or 1280x720, given the DDR3)

You should get at least the 1gb, because today's games are really demanding, especially if you want to play games with high recommended specs.

Yeah but that card is not that powerful
Running games on high at good framerates would only
Be possible on lower end games like half lif which wouldn't require lots of video ram.
The ps3 only has 256 and the 7800gt (ps3) is more powerful. Am I right? And most games, if not all, run at 720p which is about the same resolution as mist 11-15 inch laptops which is what this ati card is geared for.
