Update: So today I would have had my 6950 had I been by the phone, and not out grocery shopping with my mom. Why the phone you ask? I was getting a call from my aunt (who's picking the card up for me for some reason) but as I wasn't by the phone I'm here now 6950-less. However, today should be entirely different.

    I'm going for this one: Newegg.com - ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5 Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Mind you she's picking it up from J & R with the only other alternative being the 1GB version as every other 6950 they had is on backorder. It'll take up four slots but that's absolutely no problem. Only factor is the price...but since I'm no longer buying the card myself it's a win-win whether I get the 1 or 2GB :)

    Guess what?

More pics to come. I need to use this thing for a few hours before yapping about it.

So I've got the card installed and good lord is there an improvement. I can run Crysis maxed to high hell with texture mods and I'm getting the same frames I was getting with the 4870 on Very High with 2x AA, and then some! I haven't even begun to play all the games I have to see the exponential performance gains I'll get with this behemoth of a card. Dual slot cooler (that's the cooler by itself; two slots), currently running an 850MHz OC, plan on going for broke with 950 some time after I finish writing this and running Unigine once or twice. Fan is relatively quiet even at 100%, and SmartDoctor allows me to overvolt on the fly. :)

While I can't flash it, I could honestly care less. Some pics:
