Resolution 1200v1080
I'm looking at getting a new screen and noticed a trend that I think was only just gaining traction the last time I was in the market. The march of 1920x1080 seems to have all but destroyed 1920x1200. I can't even find a 1920x1200 laptop spec anymore. They all seem to be 1080.
From my limited research this is apparently due to conforming with big contents standards as opposed to computing standards. I'v also noticed an oddity with a lot of wallpapers. They seem to display more width in the 1080 res. as opposed to 1200 (odd). But then there are some that display no difference apart from magnification while others will show additional detail in height and no difference in width (as should be the case).
So what would you advise? Join the masses with a 1080 or resist with a 1200?
I use my PC for everything. Work, gaming, movies etc. Don't even know why I have a T.V. anymore.
