AMD Driver 11.6 Driver Update Problem

I have a AGP 4670. I know you are going to say that I should upgrade but lets leave that out for now. The only driver I have been able to get working is the 11.1 release. 11.2 and 11.6 blue screen and the rest the drivers will not work. I have been able to update the software side of the CCC but not the driver. Now 6 months later I can still not update the driver. Any ideas on what the issue is?

Have tried both in Windows 7 Pro x32 and x64.

If you haven't, here's how to do a clean install of the driver.

    1. Uninstall the current driver by clicking on it in the uninstall programs menu, then clicking change, and express uninstall.

    2. When you reboot, go into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper.

    3. After you reboot, install the 11.6 drivers normally and reboot.

    Should work fine after that.

I have tryed what you have sugested before and it does what I have said before. I have also tryed clean installs and the same as before. Also the apg hot fix only effects how the installer looks for the gpu not the drivers. They are the same drivers as the PCIexpress cards.

Have you tried 6.2b (agp hotfix version of course) which claims to have fixed a bluescreen error?

    AMD Catalyst

I have the same problem with a HIS digital AGP 4670 card. Was working just fine with the ATI AGP catalyst hotfix drivers on my Win 7 64 bit until the Win 7 SP1 in March. Then bsod if the ATI driver and SP1 are loaded at the same time. So I've been running with VGA drivers since, just waiting for either ATI to fix the drivers or MS to fix SP1. Maybe 6.2b is the magic solution. Claims to have something to do with a HDMI conflict, which I had seen others speculate about. My card has HDMI.

Good luck, and please post if you try and it works!
