No, I did not use Vista drivers. I used my own drivers downloaded from IBM website, I think... I don't remember where I got them from. They are for IBM T42 though, as far as I know.

Use at your own risk.

Video does not crash. I can play all x264 videos (.mkv) files. Works great.

I'm using IBM T42 with Mobility 9000 drivers for Mobility 7500 card.
Great news! Now I've gotta find a build 7048 ... wonder if it will translate back to my Mobility 7000 card in the x31 ...

I am using build 7048 since yesterday on my Compaq n620c (Mobility Radeon 7500) with the driver from SP27665.exe and so far it's running fine except for an annoying problem when playing video - when i go forward or backward a couple of times while the movie is playing, the picture freezes and the display slowly fades to a static-like white (repeatable every time). WEI cannot be completed, "Cannot measure video playback performance"".

Usually my procedure for installing the driver on Vista is: From VGA to Radeon 9000 from the Hardware List, restart, then manual update with my custom Catalyst 6.2 modded with MobilityModder. This driver is very stable and i've never had problems with it on Vista or XP. The same procedure probably can be done in W7, and i can test it if someone send me his Mobility Radeon 9000 driver from Seven.

spacesurfer, can you please upload your driver somewhere and share it with us, so we can test it?

Ask ozeinab87 for the link to the drivers. I uploaded my drivers and gave him the link.

I don't have the link myself.

Okay, success. Windows 7 #7048 is running like a charm now, video playback problems are gone, WEI finishes successfully.

Here are the steps:

Download this driver: http://tinyurl.com/radeon7500 (modded Catalyst 6.2) and extract it to C:\. Go to Device Manager, then Update Driver on the VGA adapter -> Browse ... -> Let me pick ... -> Have disk ... -> Browse ... and open CX_30152.inf in 2KXP_INF folder of the extracted driver. Press Next, allow the driver to be installed and reboot.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link for the driver. I installed it on my build 7048 and it is working great so far. I can actually play solitare again...

Now that that's all figured out, let's see what happens in 7057. Who's going to be first?

I'll go first.

My IBM T42 Radeon Mobility 9000 drivers still work for Radeon Mobility 7500 in build 7057!

Video playback is good - I'm using CoreAVC codecs for H.264 (mkv). WEI is calculated without crashing!

Build 7057 seems to be much more snappier than 7047.
