    7050GX2 and this PSU?

    Hey all!

EDIT: Sorry, noticed the thread title was 7050 (should be 7950, my bad! ^^:))

Another quick question I hope your brilliant minds can attend to.
Will an Nvidia 7950GX2 be safe to run with this PSU?

I notice it has 40A on the +12v rail, whereas the 7950GX2 requires 27A, and also Nvidia recommends a 400w for this GPU, and the PSU in question is 520w, a good brand, and has a powerfull +12v rail, so it should be ok...right?

    ...r-right? :P

It looks like it will run fine with that power supply. However, it also depends on what else is connected to the machine and if you plan to upgrade later on. Something a little bigger certainly would give you more room for the future.

The 7950 GX2 uses a single 6 pin PCI-E power connector, so it's limited to less than 150W. Reviews state that it peaks at 142. (That's less than 12A at 12V.)

    You're fine with the 7950 GX2.

The PSU would not be enough for a 300W card, but I suppose you'd want to upgrade your whole system before going with high-end graphics.
